FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQs

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN WE SAY THAT WE ARE AN "EVIDENCE-BASED" CLINIC?

It means that all treatment here at The Health Centre is based on the latest scientific research, is delivered by practitioners who have expertise in their healthcare discipline, we provide evidence informed information to our patients and are transparent in our communication regarding their care.

WHAT DOES "INTEGRATIVE THERAPIES" MEAN?

It means that at The Health Centre we are a multi-disciplinary clinic, we have Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Registered Massage Therapists and a Naturopathic Doctor on staff.  Our practitioners utilize each other’s expertise when they consult and work together to provide the best care possible to our patients.

WILL THERE BE A TREATMENT AT MY FIRST VISIT / INITIAL EXAMINATION?

Yes, absolutely.  Your first visit will include a review of your health history, an assessment of the condition for which you are seeking treatment, a discussion of treatment options, and then the treatment itself.

HOW FREQUENTLY WILL I NEED TO COME FOR TREATMENT?

Every patient is unique and after an assessment, the practitioner will make recommendations about your ongoing care.  Our advice is always to stay ahead of your pain or discomfort but ultimately, we encourage our patients to decide what is right for them and there is never any pressure to do otherwise.

HOW DO I PAY FOR TREATMENT?

The Health Centre accepts Cash, Debit, Visa and Mastercard and payment is required at each appointment.  With consent, we are able to submit claims to most health insurance providers on your behalf, meaning that the reimbursement will be made to the insured member as soon as the next business day.

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE A SERIES OF TREATMENTS UP FRONT?

No, absolutely not, you can pay as you go.  We do not believe that it is appropriate to determine a fixed number or visits  because treatment plans are unique and individual to each patient.  Ultimately we work to get you feeling great as soon as possible.

WILL YOU GIVE ME EXERCISES OR STRETCHES TO DO ON MY OWN?

Sometimes, yes.  If research shows that your particular condition will benefit from exercise or stretches, we will prescribe them.  We use Physitrack which is a very user friendly free app that has all your prescribed information for quick reference once you get home. If you would prefer, we can also print your information to take with you.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

We recommend that you wear anything in which you are comfortable and will allow the area of concern to be easily examined by the practitioner.  If it is necessary, the practitioner may ask that you change into a hospital gown or pair of shorts that we will provide here at The Health Centre.

IS THERE PARKING AND IS THE CLINIC ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, absolutely.  There is lots of free parking and our clinic space is completely accessible and AODA compliant.  Even our treatment tables lift and lower hydraulically to accommodate everyone’s mobility.
